WazzHot readers and Harry Potter fans, great news! The cover of the 7th book in our beloved Harry Potter series - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...is now unveiled for the world to see:

Back and Front Cover for the UK edition by Bloomsbury

US Edition front cover by Scholastic

The cover illustration for the UK edition is by Jason Cockcroft, who drew the cover illustrations for the previous two Harry Potter books.

The illustration shows Harry, now in his seventh year at Hogwarts, with friends Ron and Granger, raiding what appears to be a treasure trove.

Bloomsbury have announced that the UK version will have 608 pages! Synopisis of the book:
Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety , and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him!

In this final, seventh installment of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling unveils in spectactular fashion the answers to the many questions that have been so eagerly awaited. The spellbinding, richly woven narrative, which plunges, twists and turns at a breathtaking pace, confirms the author as a mistress of storytelling, whose books will be read, reread and read again.

Harry is waiting in Privet Drive. The Order of the Phoenix is coming to escort him safely away without Voldemort and his supporters knowing if they can. But what will Harry do then? How can he fulfil the momentous and seemingly impossible task that Professor Dumbledore has left him with?

Cockroft, who has worked on other book covers for Bloomsbury, also drew the illustrations for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - at the time the fastest selling book in publishing history - and for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

When he designed the cover for the Order of the Phoenix, Cockroft was not allowed to read it before he set to work - such was the secrecy surrounding the 2003 novel!

"Deathly Hallows" had already shot straight to number one in the Amazon.com chart, just eight hours after customers were first offered the chance to reserve a copy on December 22 - the date when Rowling first confirmed the title.

Harry Potter: The Meaning of "Hallows"?

1

Written on 1:33 PM by Unknown

When asked "What does 'Deathly Hallows' mean?" J.K. Rowling responded, "Any clarification of the meaning of 'Hallows' would give away too much of the story - well, it would, wouldn't it? Being the title and all. So I'm afraid I'm not answering.". She also declined to say what her two other shortlisted titles had been, at least until after publication.

Hallow is a word usually used as a verb, meaning "to make holy or sacred, to sanctify or consecrate, to venerate". However, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the word hallows appears as a noun. In modern English, the word is used as a noun in "All Hallows' Day" or "All Saints' Day," which is the day after Halloween or "All Hallows' Eve".

Hallows can refer to saints, the relics of saints, the relics of gods, or shrines in which the relics are kept. Since the essence of these saints or gods were often considered present at their shrines and in their relics, hallows came to refer to the saints or gods themselves, rather than just their relics or shrines. So, the hallow (relic) of a hallow (saint) is hidden in a hallow (shrine). Hallow is not to be confused with hollow, such as in Godric's Hollow.

An example of a story where hallows play a crucial role is in Arthurian legend, where the Fisher King is the guardian of the four hallows, which include the Grail itself, the serving dish, the sword or dagger, and the spear.

I feel proud to be one of the first few bloggers to have got the opportunity to blog about the release of a fantastic new software for marketing (and not just internet marketing!), simply titled - CRAIGSLIST AUTO POSTING TOOL .

For the uninitiated, Craigslist is a centralized network of online urban communities, featuring free classified advertisements (with jobs, housing, personals, for sale/barter/wanted, services, community, gigs and resumes categories) and forums sorted by various topics. As of 2007, Craigslist operates with a staff of 24 people. Its sole source of revenue is paid job ads in select cities ($75 per ad for the San Francisco Bay Area; $25 per ad for New York; Los Angeles; San Diego; Boston; Seattle; Washington D.C.), and paid broker apartment listings in New York City ($10 per ad).

Coming back to the point., what does Craiglist Auto Posting tool do?
Well, as the name suggests, it does auto posting on craigslist and manages campaigns with multiple ads and many features.

And what are these features?
Good question! I'm dying to tell you about the features....
- First and foremost, it automates your personal and business advertising! Marketers, Businesses, Auto Dealers, Real Estate Professionals, who want to list many properties in multiple locations and anyone wanting to maximize their exposure, market their products and services on Craigslist - all of them can benefit immensely from this software.

- This software promises to be constantly updated with new features and stuff, just like craiglist, i.e.it is not a static software like others that have flooded the market.

- If your PC is slow and old, no problem! It runs on Windows 2000; Windows 98; Windows 98 Second Edition; Windows ME; Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP.

- Its got lots of optional add ons that you can buy and integrate with it according to your requirement.

- Internal HTML editor for feature rich ads.

- Automated email verification eliminates having to check, recheck, and verify your email each time you post an advertisement

- Manage and post multiple ads in multiple categories with body and title randomization features.

There are many many more features to check out, but space and times is less. To check out the full range of features, including screenshots, price of the product and how to purchase, you better visit adsoncraigs.com.

Any Discount?
Yeah of course. Check the site above!

Legend of "The Secret"

WazzHot readers, I'm sure some of you may have heard about a smash hit DVD called "The Secret." Released in March 2006, the film has attracted considerable interest and acclaim from primetime media figures such as Oprah and Larry King. According to Time Magazine, The Secret movie sold 500,000 units within the first 6 months! Newsweek puts DVD sales today at 1.5 million and more than 100,000 online views. But producers estimate millions have seen the movie. Compare that to Hollywood blockbusters, and it seems paltry. But in the budding genre of spiritual cinema, many view it as a success. Both The Secret book and the DVD rank as Amazon's top selling items.

It's the law of attraction. The power of positive thinking.
Now instead of a movie sequel, "The Secret" has officially launched a "how-to" training program. It's called "The Secret Science of Getting Rich" and features big name teachers from the movie - Chicken Soup for The Soul author, Jack Canfield; Positive thinking expert, Bob Proctor and spiritual leader Michael Beckwith.
The most successful and profitable internet launch of ANY product here-to-date using a word-of-mouth marketing strategy is clearly the smash-hit movie: "The Secret."

Millions of people are craving for anything that will help them gather what "The Secret" promised. One of those things was wealth. What "The Secret" decided to do was offer a "how-to" program, that is, a seminar and an affiliate program where some of the top teachers from the movie take you step-by-step on the road to wealth building.

However, you must know one thing.... It's not a cheap program, in fact $1,995 is the investment to participate! But for those who step up to the challenge, it might be a win-win opportunity to chuck that stressful day job. There may be a tendency for critics to look suspiciously at programs like this, but never has there been a program offered that combines the credibility of teachers already mentioned above.

This program is said to be the most comprehensive training system for mastering Wallace D. Wattles wealth creation philosophies since its creation. It comprises written, audio and live seminar formats for learning, applying and mastering the Science of Getting Rich. In short, it claims to bring "The Secret" to life.

I really do feel that this program might be useful for those interested in improving their financial conditions and are willing to take risks. Risk is after all the supreme driver of a sound business. Of course, if I had that much money with me right now I would have definitely given it a try...Wish I could open up this box of secrets ;)

Da Vinci Strikes Back with his Code

Hey readers! Don't get startled by the heading...did not intend to but I must have grabbed a whole lot of attention here. Just that, I grabbed the novel - The Da Vinci Code (Illustrated Edition that I won in a National Geographic contest!). Its been lying on my bookshelf for about 6 months and i just dint touch it...I mean, I've already ready the normal edition once earlier and all the excitement was gone.

But this time, as I picked up and read..I was again fascinated by the facts in this book (most of the facts are claimed to be true by the author). Facts especially about the Holy Grail - Mary Madgelene was supposedly the wife of Jesus Christ and not a prostitute as claimed by the Vatican Church!

Then the fact that there exists a secret society by the name - "Priory of Sion", which has existed through centuries and whose grandmasters included people like Boticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo etc.

Da Vinci was the most celebrated of the Priory grandmasters - and like all members of the secret society, was a worshiper of the sacred feminine, the divine Goddess whose worship the Church had almost eliminated by branding women as the tools of the devil and objects of temptation. All his works of art are said to have double meaning connotations and hints to his inclination, and his celebrated painting "Mona Lisa" is one of the most intriguing objects in the world. It is believed by some historians that Mona lisa is not actually a woman, but a fusion of male and female form. In fact, Da vinci Code claims that the name Mona Lisa is specially relevant for the fact that the name is an anagram:

Mona ~ Annagram of Amon - Egyptian God of male fertility

Lisa ~ Annagram of Isis - Egyptian Goddess of female fertility (also known as Lisa)
Da Vinci was too much of a genius in these matters. His painting - The Last Supper, is quite controversial in this regard and we'l talk about it in the next post.

PS: Apologies for the irregular posting. Have been busy with college projects!

Friends and wazzhot readers, this is amazing news for you. I was shocked to receive an email recently which supposedly has the full first chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - the 7th and final Harry Potter book by J.K. Rowling!

I really wish to share it with all of you and hence I have created a temporary new website where all of you can read it. Here's a portion of the first chapter:

The New Mission

The dark night sky seemed to show that something horrible had happened. Yet, it could never truly tell the atrocities laid forth on that sinister night. Two figures tore along the forgotten roads that lead to the deepest fears of most mortals. No words were exchanged, for there were no words that could explain what had just occurred. The most callous act of betrayal was nothing compared to what Professor Snape had just done.

Draco Malfoy felt Severus Snape’s hand tighten around his arm as the two rounded another shadowy corner. There was no time to pause. Draco made a motion to speak, but Snape quickly silenced him with a single glance. The Unbreakable Vow had been forged and completed. The impossible had been accomplished and nothing would ever be the same.

Albus Dumbledore was dead.

Draco felt his body shudder. The Dark Lord would not be pleased with the course of action he had failed to take. His mouth grew dry as he recalled....Read more

I cannot surely say if J.K Rowling's manuscript has been leaked...but this draft which claims to be the first chapter of the final Harry Potter book reads quite unbelievably convincing. If you forgot to check out the above link, do read the whole chapter here and please feel free to comment what you think.

Mozilla Firefox Rocks Again

2

Written on 10:21 AM by Unknown

Mozilla Firefox, a free, open-source web browser for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, has long had a loyal cult following. Now Datamation’s (an online tech magazine) readers have taken notice, choosing Firefox – narrowly – to win its Product of the Year award in the Anti-Spam category.

The other entrants in this popular category were Norton Internet Security 2007, Vanquish’s vqME, Bullguard’s Internet Security, and the Apache SpamAssassin Project’s SpamAssassin.

The upgraded Firefox browser has built-in phishing protection, which is turned on by default. It checks sites against either a local or online list of known phishing sites, which are authentic-looking Web sites set up by scammers to trick users into entering personal financial information. The list is automatically updated.

Users point to Firefox’s speed, stability, highly customizable interface and open code base. Firefox also has the ability to block those ultra-annoying pop-up windows.

Firefox users tout the fact that it is not integrated with Windows, which helps prevent viruses and hackers from causing damage if they somehow manage to compromise the browser. Firefox doesn't support VBScript and ActiveX, two technologies that allow many IE security holes. Additionally, no spyware/adware software can automatically be installed in Firefox when users inadvertently visit an infecting site. The open source browser also gives users complete control over cookies.

“Firefox's anti-phishing features are a welcome addition to the browser and have been solidly implemented,’’ enthuses Leslie Franke, a systems analyst at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., in Akron, Ohio. Franke has used Firefox as her default browser since the summer of 2003, when it was operating under the name Firebird. “There is no question that anti-phishing features are desperately needed in all browsers and Firefox is at the head of the pack.”

Franke says she especially likes that Firefox enables phishing filters by default and that “the steps taken when a phishing site is found are straightforward and easy to understand.”

Mitch Keeler, a resident of Vernon, Texas who runs a site called Firefox Facts, has used the browser for over three years. Keeler says the anti-phishing features are a plus for less experienced Internet users.

“The phishing protection feature warns Firefox users when they stumble upon suspected phishers, and offers to take them off the Web page or to a Web page where they can find what they are really looking for via search,’’ he says.

Firefox vs. Internet Explorer

How does Firefox stack up against Microsoft’s Internet Explorer? Last November, software testing firm SmartWare released a report based on tests it conducted on the Firefox 2.0 and IE7 browsers, both of which include new technology to help flag and block phishing sites.

In a third-party test that pitted the browsers against two week's worth of phishing sites, the test indicated that Firefox's phish “net” may have fewer holes than IE's. Firefox blocked 243 phishing sites that IE7 overlooked, while IE7 blocked 117 sites that Firefox did not, according to the report.

But Craig Roth, vice president at technology research firm Burton Group, said people should not put too much stock in one test.

“It's a matter of how it’s keeping up with attacks over time that is important,’’ says Roth.

He says people have long paid attention to Firefox because it has a certain David and Goliath element to its story. Where the browser will prove its merit in the future, says Roth, lies in Mozilla’s ability to stay on top of the security features it has implemented.

“It’s the infrastructure and the people behind it who track where attacks are coming from that give this [Firefox’s anti-phishing features] its value. So if the technology feature is there to check certain websites against a blacklist, that alone doesn’t do anything. It's the blacklist that has to be continually updated,’’ he observes.

If you still browse the internet on Internet explorer, please take my advice and try firefox for once. You can download it from the top button in the right sidebar.
