Harry Potter October Update

JK Rowling, Daniel Radcliffe, and Emma Watson are among many British celebrities and distinguished guests, including HRH Prince Charles and Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who will be in attendance at year's Pride of Britain Awards on Tuesday, October 9th at the Dorchester Hotel in London's Park Lane.

The awards are given out to those outstanding British citizens who show great courage, care, and selflessness and are an inspiration to all.

Meanwhile, Director David Yates is quoted in a UK newspaper saying the role of Young Voldemort for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film has been cast, but refused to give the name of the young actor who will play him in the sixth Harry Potter movie. There are speculations that the actor in question may be the young nephew of Ralph Fiennes who of course portrays Lord Voldemort. The article states that while David Yates declined to reveal the name of the actor, the columnist says that the role will be played by 11 year old Titan Tiffin.

Yates - the director of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, which is due out in November next year had also directed the 5th harry Potter movie - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.



Talking of the 5th HP film, fans would be glad to know that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix dominated ITV's first National Movie Awards at London's Royal Festival Hall, after winning three gongs. It won best family movie, while its star Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the boy wizard, won best male performance. Emma Watson, who plays Hermione in the movie, scooped best female actress.

And finally, the Russian edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be out on October 13. Most big bookshops will open at midnight on October 12. The Russian publishing house Rosman, which publishes Harry Potter books in Russian, believes that all of 1.8 million books of the first printing will be sold out in a week.
