Tired of Facebook Apps Invites - Here's the Solution

One of the major complaints about Facebook is the Application Request Queue that keeps getting longer and longer unless your religiously hit the "Ignore" button each time there’s a request from a friend to add a new Facebook application.

At the time of writing, there were some 320 invitations in my Facebook Inbox for various Facebook Applications and clearing this queue would have taken days as I would press the Ignore button exactly 320 times.

Fortunately, there’s an excellent solution available now in the form of a bookmarklet for IE and Firefox that will completely erase all Facebook application requests in one click.

Go to http://www.ignoreall.com/, bookmark the bookmarklet and click on it on your Facebook request page. It works like HarryPotter's magic.

This simple Javascript removes only the Facebook Apps requests - if you have any pending friend requests or group invitations, they’ll stay unaffected.

Store Yahoo Messenger Webcam Streams on Your Hard Drive

The YCC Cam Cap application allows you to automatically save both inbound and outbound Yahoo! Messenger webcam streams to an AVI file.

YCC Cam Cap performs this by taking individual screenshots of the Yahoo! Messenger webcam control and saving them into a video file on your hard drive. YCC Cam Cap is not selective in the webcam streams it captures but saves any webcam control located on the desktop.

This process is carried out automatically behind the scenes so that when a new webcam window is opened, a new file is created and when a webcam window is closed the file is finalized. As long as you have a powerful enough machine, YCC Cam Cap is capable of saving an almost unlimited number of webcam windows at the same time and in real time.

But yeah, I know what youre thinking. It could be a boon for internet perverts as well! Oh well, when will they ever grow up!

Facebook Out to Clean Your Profile

Facebook is planning an early spring! The social networking site which famously opened its gates to developer applications in May '07, announced that it will soon be starting a way for app-happy Facebookers to keep up appearances by relegating many of their widgets to an "extended profile." By clicking the button, you will be able to hide everything except Facebook's own applications and a number of others, and a "Show Extended Profile" button will reveal the entire thing to you or your friends.

All Facebook noted that this may mean bad news for developers who've created little-known Facebook applications and are counting on viral buzz to grow their products. If those applications are rendered invisible by "extended profile" controls, that viral expansion could be stalled.

Aside from that, I think the "profile cleanup" is a great idea. One of my female friends' profile page is cluterred with 300 applications and its an onerous task waiting for the page to load (it even looks quite ugly with vampires and werevolves staring at you!) to write on her wall.

However, there are some applications like iread and superwall, which really add depth to a facebook profile and I feel it would be a raw deal for the developers of those applications.
